Why right-clicking gets you nowhere

On Xxxshut the actual media address usually sits behind an embedded player, so the browser's own save option tends to fail. The usual workarounds, screen recorders or separate download tools, add steps and lower picture quality. What goes in and what comes out

Sources it can read include plain MP4 addresses and HLS streams. Every save comes out as an MP4 file, which standard media players open and which is simple to move to another device or keep in a local archive.

Where it runs

Separate builds are published for Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox. Inside the browser, the extension is limited to Xxxshut: the root domain, the www host and the subdomains named in its configuration. Anywhere else it does nothing, and its toolbar icon appears greyed out.

You sign in to the extension with your email address and a one-time password sent to it.

From play button to file

1. Load an Xxxshut video page and let the player run for a moment, since some pages reveal media only after you interact with them.
2. Click the toolbar icon (or the button on the player) and look over the media that was found.
3. Pick a resolution when more than one is listed.
4. Start the download. The MP4 export completes and the file is saved to your computer.

A connection to the internet is needed while files download.

Limits worth knowing

• Xxxshut pages don't all share one player setup, and detection only sees what a page exposes, so some videos will not be recognized.
• It covers Xxxshut only; it stays inactive on every other site.
