Xozilla Video Downloader

Once the Xozilla player loads, this extension finds the MP4 or HLS media behind it and saves your chosen quality as an MP4 in a dedicated folder.

Why the right-click menu doesn't help

Xozilla has a large video library, but the browser alone won't let you keep a video. The player loads its media dynamically, and the real file lives inside a custom player instead of sitting behind a plain link, so the usual right-click save almost never works.

Xozilla Video Downloader closes that gap by examining the page once the player has started. It gathers the media the player exposes, along with anything in the page metadata or the network requests, and shows the results in a clean popup. You pick the format and resolution; the extension then hands the file to your browser's own save mechanism. Nothing leaves the browser: there are no addresses to copy and no third-party websites involved.

Toolkit

  • Media finder: collects video sources from supported Xozilla video pages, whether they are MP4 files or HLS streams
  • Resolution list: appears whenever more than one format is detected, each labelled with its resolution
  • Player button: a download control placed on supported video players
  • Popup: for browsing everything that was detected and choosing an item
  • Context menu: a "Download Xozilla Video" entry on the right-click menu
  • Download manager: tracks progress and sends a desktop notification when a file is done
  • Auto-save: finished files go to a dedicated Xozilla folder inside your default downloads location

Every save ends up as an MP4, a format that plays on practically any device. Downloads are handled one at a time, and a running download keeps going in the background if you switch to another tab; its progress shows in the extension's download manager and in the browser's own download bar.

One video, start to end

  1. Install the extension from the latest GitHub release, using the build for your browser: Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox.
  2. Open the Xozilla video page you want to keep.
  3. Let the player load and start playing. Media can only be found after the player initializes.
  4. Use the download button on the player, or click the toolbar icon to open the popup.
  5. Look through the detected formats; with several qualities you will see each resolution label listed.
  6. Click the one you want and processing begins.
  7. When it finishes, the browser stores the MP4 in the Xozilla subdirectory of your default downloads folder.
  8. Play it in your usual media player to confirm everything came through.

Ground rules

  • Safari is not supported at the moment.
  • Media can only be detected while the Xozilla video page is open in your browser, and only once its player has initialized.
  • Available qualities depend on what the Xozilla player offers for each particular video. If the popup stays empty even after a refresh, that video may use a format the current build cannot handle.
  • Some browsers block downloads that an extension starts on its own, so a save that never begins usually means the browser's download settings need to allow it.
  • Downloads need an internet connection, and the extension uses email sign-in confirmed by a one-time password.
  • Xozilla carries a wide variety of adult content; keep only videos that belong to you or that you have clear permission to save.

FAQ

What browsers can run the Xozilla extension, and is Safari among them?

It runs in Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox. Safari isn't supported for now.

What is it about Xozilla's player that makes me press play first?

Xozilla's player loads its media on the fly. Pressing play is what fires off the scripts and network traffic the extension reads to find video sources.

If I move to another tab, does my Xozilla download stop?

No, it carries on in the background. Follow its progress in the extension's download manager or in your browser's own download bar.

Can I set several Xozilla downloads going together?

No. One download is handled at a time, so begin the next after the current one finishes.

My saved Xozilla MP4 won't open. Is the file broken?

Check first that the download actually finished. If it did, open it in another media player; that rules out a missing codec on your computer.

The Xozilla extension misbehaves after an update. How do I reset it?

Remove it, then install the newest build from the project's GitHub releases. Clearing the browser cache helps if trouble continues.
