Why right-click fails on XGROOVY

On XGROOVY video pages, a plain right-click and save almost never reaches the actual media. The player code hands over a usable stream late, typically after the page has finished initializing or the video has started, so getting at the video usually means extra steps or an outside tool.

Xgroovy Video Downloader moves that detection into your browser. There is no need to copy addresses into downloader websites or install desktop software: you review the formats found on the open XGROOVY page, choose the quality you want and save through the browser's normal download flow while the extension handles the detection work.

Detection sources

The extension looks for media wherever XGROOVY exposes it:

  • direct MP4 addresses
  • HLS/M3U8 streams
  • media referenced by the page, by the player scripts or in page metadata

When more than one format is found, a quality picker lets you choose between them. If only a single quality appears, that is everything the page offers; the extension cannot list formats that XGROOVY does not expose. Whatever the input, the finished file is an MP4, which keeps it easy to play in standard players, move to other devices or archive.

Ways to open the downloader

  • Player button: an in-page control on the video player for quick access to the download options
  • Toolbar popup: lists the detected media and the available qualities
  • Right-click menu: an entry on both page and video elements

Behind those controls, shared offscreen processing deals with both streams and direct files, and a download manager reports progress as the save runs.

Getting a file out

  1. Open a supported XGROOVY video page and let it load completely so the player can initialize.
  2. Press play, or wait until the player has exposed its media.
  3. Open the popup from the toolbar, or use the player button or right-click entry.
  4. Check the detected formats and quality options, then pick one.
  5. Start the download and let processing finish.
  6. The finished MP4 is saved automatically into an XGROOVY folder.

Installation builds come from the latest GitHub release rather than a browser store, and you choose the one that matches your browser: Chrome, Edge, Brave or Firefox. After installing, open any XGROOVY video page and the extension's controls become available there.

Hosts, sign-in and boundaries

  • Host matching takes in the bare xgroovy.com domain, its www host and other XGROOVY subdomains; on any other address the popup stays inactive.
  • Some XGROOVY pages serve video from CDN hosts on other domains, and those may need additional permissions.
  • Downloads cover a single video from the active page at a time.
  • Using the extension requires email sign-in, confirmed with a one-time password. If downloads won't start, check that you finished that sign-in.
  • If the popup never opens, the tab is probably not a supported XGROOVY video page.
  • A working internet connection is needed. If a download does not begin, also confirm the video is still available, then refresh and start playback again.
  • XGROOVY hosts a wide range of adult content. Only save videos where you have the rights to do so.

FAQ

Can I get the XGROOVY extension from the Chrome Web Store?

Not at the moment. Install it from the latest release on GitHub instead.

Is there an XGROOVY build for Brave, Edge or Firefox, or only for Chrome?

Every one of them is covered: Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox each have a build, so download the one for your browser.

Should the XGROOVY clip already be playing when I open the popup?

Yes. A lot of XGROOVY pages reveal the final media only after the player starts or playback begins.

Can the extension handle more than one XGROOVY video in a single go?

No. It downloads one video at a time from whichever page is active.

Where do my finished XGROOVY downloads end up?

They are saved automatically into an XGROOVY folder, and the download manager shows progress until each one is done.
