How does it work out which resolutions a TXXX video has?

It inspects the player on the page you are viewing and collects every stream source along with its resolution tier. Those options then appear in a selector so you decide before the download begins.

Which file type do I get?

Every save is an MP4. The stream is not re-encoded, so the bitrate and resolution match what TXXX served.

Is it possible to grab several TXXX videos in one go?

Yes. Add multiple URLs to the queue and it processes them in sequence, retrying on its own if something interrupts a transfer.

Will it get me into premium or login-only TXXX videos?
