Twitter X Downloader
Collects the videos, images and post text on any X (Twitter) page into one tabbed popup, so you can save single files or the whole lot in a batch.
Everything on the Page, Sorted Into Tabs
Open an X post, thread, feed or profile and click the extension icon. Twitter X Downloader gathers the media it finds into a tabbed view so you can save items one by one or all together, straight to your computer. No separate program or online service is involved.
- Videos are saved as MP4, at whatever quality tiers X serves for that post.
- Images keep the format they were posted in, JPG or PNG.
- Post text can be exported as a plain TXT file for reference.
Overlay buttons placed on images and videos give you a one-click save without opening the popup at all.
How Videos Are Found
The extension was made for X alone, and it checks several places for video: DOM elements on the page, inline scripts, the browser's Performance API and X API status resolution. Some videos take a moment longer to be detected, so let the clip load and start playing first.
The whole process runs inside your browser. Account data, URLs and media files are not passed to outside servers.
Bulk Saving
When you want more than a single item, bulk mode handles entire threads, profile pages or every visible piece of media in a feed.
Requirements
It's a desktop extension for Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera. Safari and mobile browsers aren't supported. Files are saved to your browser's default downloads folder.
FAQ
What's the quickest way to save a video from a post?
Click the overlay button sitting on the clip, or open the toolbar popup instead. Either way an MP4 ends up among your downloads.
Does it handle photos as well as video?
It does. Pictures in a post or thread show up in their own tab and can be kept singly or all together, as JPG or PNG files.
Can I keep the words of a post?
Sure: the popup turns a post's text into a TXT file you can store alongside the media.
Which video resolutions can I get?
Whatever tiers X itself serves for that particular post; the extension simply offers all of them.
What file types does it produce?
Clips become MP4. Pictures are saved in their original format, JPG or PNG, and text is written out as TXT.
Where do saved files go?
Nowhere special: the browser's usual downloads folder.
Can Firefox users install Twitter X Downloader?
They can. Desktop Firefox is supported along with Chrome, Edge, Brave and Opera; Safari and phone or tablet browsers are not.
My video isn't showing up in the popup. What should I do?
Get the clip playing, reload the page and look again. Certain delivery methods need a little extra time before detection catches them.
Is my information kept private?
Yes. Nothing about your account, the links you visit or the files you save is sent to an outside server; it all stays in the browser.
