Tube8 Video Downloader
Play a Tube8 video, choose a resolution in the popup and keep a standard MP4, with no pasted links, download sites or separate software involved.
Saving From Tube8 Without the Usual Detours
Tube8 hosts a big library of user-uploaded and studio-produced adult videos across many categories, yet gives you nothing to save them with. People who want a local copy usually end up on dubious third-party sites, ad-stuffed download tools or fiddly command-line programs.
Tube8 Video Downloader keeps the job in the tab you already have open. While a video plays, it picks up the stream the player is currently pulling and offers it in a tidy popup that shows the detected title and the resolutions available. There's no link to copy, no outside website and no application to install, and neither a Tube8 account nor any other site account is needed. To activate the extension you sign in with your email and a single-use code sent there.
Streams In, MP4 Out
The Tube8 player delivers video as HLS or MPEG-DASH segments, usually H.264 video with AAC audio. The extension assembles that into an MP4, which practically every desktop player, mobile device and archiving workflow can handle. When the site offers more than one quality tier, a selector lets you choose; when it doesn't, you get whatever stream the player is currently serving.
Downloads run through a sequential queue, one after another, so several videos can be handled without them clashing; start the next once the current one is done. A desktop notification appears each time a download completes. The popup stays compact and only lights up on supported video pages.
Walkthrough
- Get the build for your browser from the latest GitHub release and install it.
- On Tube8, click a thumbnail to open the video's own page; these use addresses like
/porn-video/<id>/, with a number as the ID. - Start playback and allow several seconds of buffering.
- Click the Tube8 Video Downloader icon in the toolbar.
- Check the title and quality options, choose a resolution and start the MP4 export.
- When it's done, look in your browser's default downloads folder.
The buffering step matters because the popup can only list a stream once the player has started fetching it. Opening the popup on a paused page, or on a Tube8 page that isn't a single video, leaves it with nothing to show. When you reach the resolution choice, remember that a lower tier can be the more reliable pick if the highest one keeps failing on a slow or unsteady connection.
Compatibility and Exclusions
- Browsers: Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox and other Chromium-based browsers
- Pages: standard Tube8 video pages; on a non-video page the icon stays inactive
- Not supported: live streams and VR content
- Connection: required for every download
When a Save Misbehaves
Detection needs a playing, buffered video; if the popup has nothing, refresh, start playback again and reopen it, and if the stream still won't appear, that page may be using a delivery method the extension can't read. A download that fails partway is worth checking against your connection and free disk space, and dropping to a lower quality can succeed where the top resolution keeps failing. Transfer speed is set by your connection and by how quickly Tube8's servers answer, so pausing other downloads or streams in other tabs can help.
Use it only for Tube8 videos you own, or ones whose owner has clearly said you may keep a copy.
FAQ
Which browsers is Tube8 Video Downloader built for?
Chrome, Edge, Brave and Firefox, as well as other browsers built on Chromium.
Will I need to sign up for something?
Only to activate the extension, which uses an email sign-in with a single-use code. You don't need an account on Tube8 or any other site.
Can several videos download in parallel?
No. A sequential queue handles one download at a time, so begin the next after the current one finishes.
A video isn't showing in the popup. What now?
Make sure it's playing and has buffered, then refresh, restart playback and open the popup again. If it's still missing, that page may deliver video in a way the extension doesn't support.
Does it capture Tube8 live streams or VR videos?
No. It's aimed at standard video pages, and live streams and VR content aren't supported.
