Following a job

The download manager shows live progress, the number of segments, elapsed time and a cancel button. Desktop notifications cover jobs that are running, done or failed, which means you do not have to keep the popup open. Finished MP4s are saved automatically to your browser's default Downloads folder, with no save-as prompt. You can also start a job from the right-click menu with "Download Stripchat Stream" on supported pages and videos.

Setting up

Sign-in uses a one-time password sent to your email, which activates the extension. After that, any live model page on Stripchat.com or any recording in the /videos/ section is a starting point: the player button, the popup or the right-click menu lets you choose a rendition and begin.

Requirements and limits

Supported on Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, Whale and Yandex, running on Windows, macOS or Linux. Safari and mobile browsers cannot use it. Region: Worldwide.

• A live stream can only be captured while the model is broadcasting publicly.
• Private and access-restricted shows are not supported.
• DRM-protected content outside the supported workflows cannot be saved, and other platforms are not covered.
• The best rendition on offer is set by the manifest or the direct source.
• A stable connection matters, particularly for live captures.

Permissions

Detection, live capture and MP4 creation all run locally. Remote calls go out only to activate and verify your access and to check for updates.

FAQ

What are the steps to record someone who is live right now?

Open their model page while they are broadcasting and wait for the player to appear. Click the button in the player or open the popup, choose a rendition, and recording starts. Press stop whenever you want it to end.

Does it also save past shows from the videos section?

Yes. Open a Stripchat /videos/ page, let the extension find the source, choose a quality or format, and download it as a standard MP4.

How do I know which quality to pick?

Each rendition found in the HLS master manifest is listed with its resolution, bandwidth and frame rate, so you can choose the tier that suits you.

Can I record a model who is not online?

No. Live capture needs a public broadcast with an active LL-HLS feed; when the model is offline there is nothing to record.

Can private shows be captured?

No. Private and otherwise restricted shows are outside its scope. It works only with content you can already view normally.

Is there a save dialog at the end of each job?

No. Completed MP4s are written automatically into your browser's default Downloads folder, so nothing interrupts the process.

If my internet drops during a live capture, is everything lost?

No. Live capture needs an unbroken connection, but the segments recorded before the interruption are kept, and the manager shows segment progress throughout.

Do Whale and Yandex work? What about Safari?

Whale and Yandex are supported, along with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera, on Windows, macOS and Linux. Safari is not compatible, and neither are phone or tablet browsers.

What is each permission used for?

Each covers part of the work: downloads, activeTab, scripting, tabs, notifications and contextMenus as listed above, plus offscreen access for processing live captures in a background context. Between them they handle stream detection, adding controls to the player, progress tracking and saving files locally.

Is any of my viewing sent anywhere?

No. Finding streams, recording live shows and building MP4s all happen in your browser. The extension only contacts its servers to activate and verify your access and to look for updates.
