The quality selector orders what it finds by resolution and puts MP4 ahead of HLS. Choosing a direct MP4 saves it immediately; choosing an HLS stream triggers conversion to MP4 inside the browser through an offscreen processing workflow. Whichever route a video takes, detection, quality choice, conversion and progress tracking are handled in one place, with no separate desktop software or command-line tools.

Saving a RedTube video

Coverage

Works on: ordinary RedTube video pages, player URLs on embed.redtube.com, and RedTube's regional domains wherever they share the main site's player and media structure. Sources can be direct MP4 files or HLS streams that convert to MP4.

Doesn't work on: Safari or mobile browsers, live streams, DRM-protected media or anything your session can't reach. It won't bypass permissions or paywalls, and you need to be entitled to view and download whatever you save.

Is everything saved as MP4?

Yes. A direct MP4 is kept as it is, and an HLS stream is converted to MP4 inside the browser.

Is there a fixed folder for RedTube files?

The sources are often exposed only once playback starts, so play the video first. If it still isn't found, reload and try again once the player has finished loading.
