Rawpixel Downloader
Batch-save whole Rawpixel boards, collections and search results, from PSD mockups to public domain art, with each file marked free or premium.
From asset-by-asset to whole collections
Designers turn to Rawpixel for neatly organised material: old artwork that has entered the public domain, mockup templates in PSD form, vector art and stock photos. Fetching those pieces individually, though, can stretch a quick job into an hour of clicking. Rawpixel Downloader works in batches instead. Aim it at a board, a curated collection or a page of search results and it collects the full set at maximum quality, ready to use straight away.
Picking what to save
Clicking the toolbar icon scans the current page and works out what kind of asset each item is, telling public domain artwork apart from stock photos, vector graphics and PSD mockups. Before the queue is built you can filter down to photos, vectors, PSDs or public domain items, then tick individual files or choose them all. A duplicate tracker marks anything you've already downloaded, so you don't fetch it twice.
The whole public domain archive is in scope: historical images, classical paintings and vintage illustrations alike.
Free, premium and attribution
Some Rawpixel assets are free to use as long as you credit them; others are reserved for premium members. The extension handles both tiers properly and keeps track of the difference: each file gets a free or premium tag that travels with it in the download metadata, so later you can tell at a glance what you owe. Premium items require you to be signed in to Rawpixel with an active subscription. Public domain works are usable without restriction, yet some of them still come with their own attribution requirements.
Transfers and file output
- several downloads run at the same time, each with its own progress bar, and a failed transfer is retried automatically
- PSDs, vectors and photos arrive at full resolution, in whatever format they were originally published in
- stock photos are JPEG or PNG; for everything else the format is whatever Rawpixel supplies for that asset
- saved files are sorted locally by asset type and by Rawpixel resource ID
- how fast things go depends on your internet connection and on Rawpixel's servers
Where it runs
Desktop browsers: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera, on Windows, macOS and Linux. It is available worldwide. A short email activation is needed before the first use.
Safari and mobile browsers aren't supported. The extension won't fetch premium content if you have no subscription, won't bypass Rawpixel's access restrictions and won't save DRM-protected or otherwise restricted assets.
Permissions explained
downloads: writes design assets into your downloads folder and follows each file's progress through a batch.activeTab: looks at the open Rawpixel page to spot assets, pull out their full-resolution addresses and place download controls on boards and search results.storage: remembers your activation, the record of past downloads that powers duplicate detection, and your settings across browser sessions.notifications: raises a desktop alert once a batch is finished or when a transfer fails and needs your attention.
FAQ
What's the routine for saving assets from Rawpixel?
Open a search results page, a board or a single resource page, then press the extension icon. It scans the page, you tick the files you want, hit Download, and each one arrives in your downloads folder in its original format.
Is the public domain archive covered?
Fully. You can save vintage illustrations, classical paintings and historical photographs from that part of Rawpixel, and those works are open for use, although some come with specific attribution requirements.
Will it fetch PSD mockups and vector files too?
Yes. Along with photos and public domain artwork, PSDs and vectors are recognised on the page and saved at their original resolution and format.
How do I know which files are free and which are premium?
The extension checks every asset and stores a free or premium label in its download metadata. That tells you later which items need attribution and which are restricted to premium members.
Can it get premium Rawpixel assets without a subscription?
No. What your Rawpixel account can open is what it can save. Premium restrictions stay in place and nothing outside your subscription is downloaded.
Can I use it on a Mac or in Safari?
On a Mac, yes, in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave or Opera; Windows and Linux desktops work too. Safari is not supported, and neither are browsers on phones or tablets.
Does anything I download get reported back?
No. Everything is handled locally in the browser; your account credentials, download history and files are not transmitted to any external server.
