Pinterest Downloader
Saves the original, full-size image behind a Pinterest pin instead of the shrunken feed preview, and can export a whole board into one folder.

Original files, not feed previews
Saving a pin with a right-click usually leaves you with a small, heavily compressed copy that turns blocky as soon as you zoom. Pinterest shrinks the images in its feed to save bandwidth, so that copy is not the file the creator uploaded.
Pinterest Downloader is built to bypass the shrinking. For every pin it asks Pinterest's image CDN for the largest variant it holds, which is normally the original upload. Individual pin pages get a download button of their own, and a single click on it stores the sharpest version that exists.
Whole boards and idea pins
Board export. A batch mode takes every pin on a board and drops them together into one folder on your computer, with the folder carrying the board's name. Large exports run through a download queue so the connection is not flooded, and pins you have downloaded before are recognised and skipped.
Idea pins. Video inside an idea pin is picked up automatically and stored as an MP4. Still slides from the same idea pin are written as separate image files beside the video.
Pin details. The title, description and original source address of each pin travel with the download and can be used to name the file, which makes it easy to find out later where a picture first came from.
Nothing leaves your machine during any of this. The extension stores no account information and needs no other software.
Permissions it asks for
downloads: puts pin images and idea pin videos on your device and drives the queue behind board exports.activeTab: spots Pinterest pin and board pages and places download controls only in the tab you are looking at.storage: holds download history, the records used for duplicate detection, and your settings, all locally in the browser.notifications: alerts you when a board export finishes or when downloading an individual pin fails.
Where it runs
Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera are supported on Windows, macOS and Linux. Safari is not supported, and neither are mobile browsers. It is available worldwide.
FAQ
What's the quickest way to save a single pin?
Install the extension, then open the pin itself. The page gains a download button, and pressing it stores the image at the highest resolution Pinterest offers.
Is there a way to grab every pin on a board in one go?
Yes. Open the board and start a batch export; all its pins are queued and end up in a folder that has the board's name, so separate projects or topics stay apart.
How are idea pins with video handled?
The video is detected on its own and saved as an MP4. Still slides inside the same idea pin are stored as separate image files alongside it.
How large will the saved images be?
The extension asks Pinterest's image CDN for its biggest variant, usually the resolution the image was uploaded at. That is far larger and crisper than the compressed version shown in the feed.
Are a pin's description and original link kept?
Yes. Titles, descriptions and source links are stored with each download and can go into the file name, so finding where a picture originated stays simple.
Does Pinterest Downloader install on Apple's browser or on handsets?
No. It supports Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera on Windows, macOS and Linux; Safari and mobile browsers are not supported at the moment.
