One site, one route

Perfectgirls Video Downloader has a single job: saving videos from Perfect Girls. It pays attention only to individual video pages whose address follows the /video/<id>/ shape. Category listings, search results and the homepage are left alone, and the extension stays quiet in the background until a matching page loads. Because it switches on only for those recognised pages, its footprint in the browser stays small the rest of the time. It will not do anything on other websites; everything about it is tuned to how Perfect Girls lays out its pages and runs its player.

Why the narrow focus matters: Perfect Girls does not put the video file in the page you see. Playback happens inside an iframe, a page nested within the page, and the stream itself only exists in that inner player. Right-clicking the picture or trying the usual save tricks therefore reaches the wrapper, not the media. You would otherwise be left digging through network inspectors or copying addresses by hand.

Inside the player

The extension hooks into playback at the point where the iframe player asks for its media, and notes the stream address before it vanishes into the player. The source it finds there takes one of these forms:

• Direct MP4 files, which are saved as they are.
• M3U8 playlists, the HLS format that splits a video into small pieces, which the extension assembles into an MP4.

Whichever kind it finds, you end up with an MP4. Everything happens in the browser, without separate software or pasted links, and the file itself is written by the browser's own download engine.

A typical session

Install the extension from its most recent release, then open any single video on Perfect Girls and wait for the page to load completely. Start playback; the stream is only requested once the player runs, so this step cannot be skipped. Click the toolbar icon and the popup scans the page. When the scan ends, a small list shows every stream it detected, each with a download button. Choose the quality or format you prefer, start the download, and pick where on your device the MP4 should be saved.

There is no need for a Perfect Girls account. The extension itself asks you to sign in with an email address, and the sign-in is confirmed with a one-time password.

Where it can fall short

• DRM and other protection. Videos that are DRM-protected or otherwise restricted may not be downloadable. Some Perfect Girls videos also run on a different player configuration that the extension cannot read. If one video yields nothing, trying another tells you whether the extension itself is working.
• Dropped connections. The download pulls stream data live, so it needs internet access the whole time. If the connection breaks partway, the file can come out empty or broken; reload the page, play the video again and repeat the download.
• Blocked saves. When everything looks right but no download starts, check that your browser permits file downloads, that its security settings are not stopping downloads started by an extension, and that the disk has room.
• Site changes. A change to the Perfect Girls player can require a matching update to the extension before saving works again.

Use it only for videos you are authorised to keep.

FAQ

Which Perfect Girls pages does it actually run on?

Single video pages with an address in the /video/<id>/ form. It does nothing on search results, category indexes or the site's front page.

What kinds of streams can it save, and what file do I get?

It works with M3U8 and MP4 streams that the embedded player loads. In every case the saved file is an MP4.

Does saving require any account?

Not a Perfect Girls account. The extension asks you to sign in with your email address using a one-time password.

Does it help with sites other than Perfect Girls?

No. It is designed around the page structure of Perfect Girls and does not work on other platforms.

The popup is open, but nothing is listed. What should I check?

Make sure the address is a /video/<id>/ page and that the video is actually playing. The stream only appears after playback starts, so press play and open the popup again.

The extension's button looks inactive. Is something wrong?

You are probably on a page type the extension skips, such as a category or search page. Load a single video instead and the icon wakes up.
