Okxxx Video Downloader
Okxxx Video Downloader reads the iframe player on ok.xxx video pages, lists each M3U8 or MP4 stream and writes your choice to disk as MP4.
ok.xxx and Its Video Route
Okxxx serves its videos from ok.xxx (also written OK.xxx), and each video sits at an address of the form /video/<id>/. Okxxx Video Downloader is tailored to that route and to how the site's player behaves. It should not be confused with other OK-branded platforms that have similar names; only Okxxx's own domain and page structure are targeted. Playback that crosses to xiaoshenke.net, one of the domains associated with Okxxx, is followed automatically.
Outside a recognized video page the extension does nothing. It waits in the background with a small footprint and switches on only when such a page is open.
Why Right-Click Fails Here
The Okxxx page you load is a shell. The video plays in a player nested inside it through an iframe, so the file isn't something you can right-click and save, and simple download tricks fall flat.
The extension avoids all that by sitting inside the page and watching the player as it starts. Stream URLs are extracted automatically from the iframe playback layer, which ordinary tools can't reach. Direct MP4 files and M3U8/HLS playlists are both recognized, and when you open the popup the detected media are already waiting in a tidy list, each with a download button. You don't go hunting in the network tab, copy links, or install a standalone download app; the browser's own download engine saves the file.
Download Sequence
Start by getting the build for your browser from the releases page and installing it the way your browser handles extensions. Sign in with a one-time code emailed to you.
- Go to an Okxxx video page; the address should contain
/video/<id>/. - Once the page has loaded, press play; the player needs to be fully initialized.
- Click the Okxxx Video Downloader icon in the toolbar. Its page scan is usually done within seconds.
- Look through the detected options in the popup and choose the quality or format you want.
- Press download and let the extension handle the rest.
- When your browser asks, pick where the MP4 should be saved.
Output Format
Whatever comes in, MP4 or M3U8, the saved file is MP4. It plays on phones, laptops and smart TVs without codec packs or special players, and it can be exported to external storage for long-term keeping.
Where It Falls Short
Not every Okxxx video shares the same player setup, and some are DRM-protected; on those the extension may come up empty. Trying another video is the quickest way to confirm it's otherwise working. Restricted or DRM-locked videos may not download at all, and if Okxxx reworks its player infrastructure, an extension update may be needed.
You'll need an internet connection to pull stream data. Keep only what you're permitted to save.
FAQ
Which Okxxx pages can the extension handle?
Single video pages whose address follows /video/<id>/. Non-video areas of the site lack the player elements it depends on, so they aren't supported.
Does it also cover other "OK" sites with similar names?
No. It's built only for Okxxx and its specific domain and page layout, not for similarly named platforms.
What kinds of Okxxx streams will it detect?
M3U8 and MP4 sources found during playback. Either way, the file you save is always MP4.
Okxxx playback hops to xiaoshenke.net. Is that a problem?
No. Several domains linked to Okxxx are covered, xiaoshenke.net included, and the cross-domain playback is handled automatically.
The popup on Okxxx opens with nothing in it. What should I check?
Make sure you're on a real Okxxx video page with the /video/<id>/ pattern and that the video is playing; the stream is only picked up during playback.
Why is the Okxxx icon grayed out?
You're on a page type it doesn't support, like a category listing or search results. Open an individual video instead.
An Okxxx download finished but the file is broken or empty. Why?
The stream connection likely dropped partway. Reload, start playback again and download once more.
Nothing starts when I press download on Okxxx. What blocks it?
Check that your browser permits file downloads, that no security setting stops extension-initiated downloads, and that there's free storage.
