Netflix Downloader
Turn Netflix films, shows and documentaries into MP4 files that never expire, with every audio language and subtitle track kept inside.

Streaming Isn't Owning
A title you like can leave the Netflix catalog without much warning, and episodes saved through the official app stop playing 48 hours after you start watching them offline. Those app downloads are also tied to the mobile app and to particular devices. Netflix Downloader takes a different route: it saves movies, series and documentaries from the browser as MP4 files on your computer, and those files don't expire.
Because they are ordinary MP4s, they open in VLC, MPV, Infuse, Plex or any other media player, including on devices that have no Netflix app at all.
What a Download Contains
- Video up to 1080p. Before saving, you see the available quality levels with their bitrate and an estimate of file size.
- Every audio language on offer. If a title carries English, Spanish, French or other tracks, all of them are embedded, and you switch between them in your player.
- Subtitles and closed captions from Netflix, included in the same file.
- One clean file. The adaptive stream segments Netflix sends are merged into a single MP4.
Netflix Originals, licensed titles and documentary series can all be saved.
Working Through a Whole Season
On a series page you can queue single episodes or full seasons. The queue is processed one episode after another, and each file is named with the show's title, the season number and the episode number. Downloads can also be sorted into custom folders by series, genre or Netflix category.
Should a download be interrupted, it resumes from where it stopped, without fetching stream segments that already finished. Duplicate detection notices titles you already have, so they aren't downloaded twice.
Getting Started
Install the extension and log in to Netflix in your browser the way you always do. Open any movie, series or documentary and the extension picks up the stream and the quality tiers available. Choose a quality, then save the title alone or add it to a batch.
All processing happens locally. Nothing is uploaded, no third-party server is involved, and what you save isn't tracked. Credentials and session data are never passed to external servers.
Compatibility and Constraints
It runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave and Opera, on Windows, macOS or Linux; Safari and mobile browsers can't use it. Supported regions: Worldwide.
- You need an active Netflix subscription and must be logged in through the browser.
- Netflix normally caps browser playback at 1080p. 4K downloads aren't possible, because Netflix keeps 4K for its own app and certain hardware.
- Content with strict DRM that blocks access at the browser level can't be saved, and some newer titles use stricter DRM of this kind.
- Which titles you can get depends on your Netflix region and plan.
- Keep download speeds moderate so they don't trigger Netflix's abuse detection.
Permissions
downloads: puts the processed MP4 into your local downloads folder.activeTab: finds the Netflix player on the current page, so download options appear only on Netflix.storage: keeps quality preferences, the state of the queue and a record of finished downloads in your browser.notifications: lets you know when an episode or a season batch is done.
FAQ
Why use this instead of the download button in the Netflix app?
The app's offline copies live only inside the mobile app, lapse after a time limit and work on a restricted set of devices. Files from this extension are plain MP4s you keep for good and can open in whatever player you like.
Can a whole Netflix season be queued at once?
Yes. Add episodes or entire seasons from the series page; they're handled sequentially, and every file gets the show name, season and episode in its filename.
How sharp will the Netflix video be?
As sharp as the stream Netflix sends your browser, so 1080p at most, depending on plan and browser. The 4K tier usually stays inside Netflix's own app on certified devices.
If a title has dubbed audio, do I keep every language?
Yes, every track Netflix offers for the title goes into the MP4. Pick the language later in VLC, MPV, Infuse, Plex and similar players.
Could downloading put my Netflix account at risk?
The extension rides on the browser session you already have, just as the Netflix web player does, and never sends credentials or session data to outside servers. Even so, keep speeds modest, and using a well-known VPN for privacy is strongly advised.
