The branded page is only the first stop

When you press play on Gimmeporn, the page you're looking at isn't where the video comes from. Playback travels along a route that leans heavily on helper hosts, which can include w1.gimmeporn.xyz and outside delivery servers. General-purpose downloaders tend to stop at the branded page and come back empty. This extension is controlled from that page but keeps following the route until it reaches the media.

What you'd face otherwise

A Gimmeporn player hides its real source. The address might be buried in player layers, passed along indirectly, or split into a stream. A plain right-click save captures a thumbnail or advert instead of the video, which pushes people towards converter sites or long sessions in the network inspector.

How the extension reads a page

On whichever Gimmeporn page is open, it checks:

• standard media tags in the document
• URLs that follow the Twitter player stream style
• page metadata, scripts and the browser's performance entries
• player documents loaded alongside the page, including those from helper hosts

Ads, previews and thumbnails are removed from the results. A direct MP4 is used when the page exposes the final file; an HLS stream is recognised and processed when the video is streamed. Resolution hints, when present, decide the order of the quality list. Which formats show up depends on what the page and its helper hosts actually expose.

Controls at your disposal

There's a download overlay on the player for supported pages, a popup in the toolbar listing what was found, and a right-click option on the page or video labelled "Download Gimmeporn Video". A tracker displays the progress of active downloads, and completed videos go into their own Gimmeporn folder.

Your first download

1. Install the build from the latest release.
2. Visit a supported Gimmeporn page.
3. Start playback if the video hasn't begun, so the media path appears.
4. Use the in-page button or the extension's interface.
5. Choose the quality you prefer.
6. Let the MP4 finish and it is stored on your computer.

Inputs and the saved file

Detected sources include direct MP4 links, HLS manifests and other player-based media. Whatever the source, you receive an MP4, which works with common players, travels well between devices and keeps a local archive simple.

Signing in and staying within the rules

An email sign-in verified by a one-time password is required before you can use the extension. Keep an internet connection for the duration of each download. Only save material you own or are clearly allowed to keep, and expect quality and format options to differ between videos; some are offered in only one resolution.

FAQ

What are the steps for saving a Gimmeporn video?

Open a supported Gimmeporn page, start the video if necessary, and once the media path is found use the button on the page or the extension's own panel.

There's no overlay on the player. What can I do?

Check that you're on a supported page and that the video is playing, since some pages only release the source after playback starts. The popup and the right-click entry work without the overlay.

A download broke off. How do I recover?

Verify your connection, reload the page, play the video again and retry.

Why is Gimmeporn harder to download from than most sites?

Its branded page is just part of the picture. Playback runs through a route full of helper hosts, possibly including w1.gimmeporn.xyz and external delivery hosts, and general downloaders often don't follow it that far.

Does the format I end up with depend on the helper host?

It finds videos through standard media tags and URLs in the Twitter player stream style. The formats you see depend on what the page and its helper hosts make available.

Is a sign-in needed before downloading?

Yes. You confirm your email address with a one-time password before the extension can be used.

Will it also work on unrelated video sites?

No. It is configured for Gimmeporn and the helper hosts that deliver its videos, and it won't function on other video sites.

Where are finished files saved?

In the Gimmeporn folder; your browser's download settings control where that folder sits.
