Getty Images Downloader
Pull a whole Getty Images board or results page in one batch, with captions, credits, rights data and asset IDs still embedded in each saved file.

A whole board in one pass
Saving licensed Getty Images assets through the website means opening each one, waiting for the page, choosing a size and clicking download, then starting over for the next. For a team pulling hundreds of files a month, that loop eats hours. Getty Images Downloader swaps it for batch saving on the pages you already work from.
Signed in to your Getty Images account, open a search results page, a board, a collection or a single asset's detail view and click the extension icon. It scans the page for photos, editorial images and video clips. Tick files one by one or select the lot, choose a format and resolution, and download. Stills arrive as full-resolution JPEG or TIFF and clips as MP4; how high the resolution goes is capped by what your Getty account permits. Everything lands in your downloads folder, giving you offline copies of licensed material for print, broadcast and web production. Board export takes every asset in a curated board or collection as a single batch.
Files that keep their paperwork
Editorial and rights-managed work depends on what travels with the image. Each saved file retains:
- IPTC captions
- XMP rights information
- photographer credits
- editorial usage restrictions and the content type (creative or editorial)
- Getty's unique asset ID, useful for rights-managed compliance and audits of what you've licensed
Because the data is already embedded, editorial compliance checks and imports into a DAM need no manual retyping.
Queue behaviour
- Creative content, both royalty-free and rights-managed, is kept apart from editorial content in the download queue.
- Transfers run concurrently, each with its own progress bar, and an interrupted transfer is retried automatically.
- A duplicate tracker remembers earlier downloads and warns you before you save something already in your local library.
- HD and 4K video tiers are supported according to your Getty account level.
- Enterprise and individual Getty account download flows both work without extra authentication steps.
Licensed content only
The extension saves what your Getty Images account is entitled to and nothing beyond it:
- a signed-in Getty Images account is required
- only assets you've licensed (or are otherwise authorised to access) can be downloaded, and there's no paywall bypass
- rights-managed content must be validly licensed before it downloads
- watermarked comp previews stay watermarked and can't become full-resolution files
- DRM-protected or restricted assets are out of scope
- clip resolution follows your account tier
Permissions the extension asks for

FAQ
I have a Getty board open. How do I get its images onto my drive?
From a search results page, a board or an individual asset, press the extension icon and let it scan. You'll get a list of what's on the page; tick what you need, hit Download, and the originals drop into your downloads directory.
Is editorial material covered, or only creative stock?
Both. Royalty-free and rights-managed creative assets work, and editorial images do too. The extension stores which kind each file is, along with any editorial usage restrictions, inside the metadata.
What about Getty footage in 4K?
Clips are picked up from Getty Images pages and written as MP4. Whether you get HD or 4K is decided by the resolution your account gives you access to.
When I open a saved image later, is the caption and photographer credit still there?
It is. Captions, credits, rights details and usage restrictions all come across in the IPTC and XMP fields, which is what newsroom compliance and rights-managed tracking depend on.
Can it unlock unlicensed images or clean up watermarked comps?
No. The only content it saves is content your Getty Images account has licensed or may otherwise access. Comp watermarks remain in place, and access restrictions are left untouched.
Our designers use Safari and iPads. Will it run for them?
No. Safari and mobile browsers aren't supported. Use a desktop running Windows, macOS or Linux with Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave or Opera.
Is my Getty login or download history shared with anyone?
No. The work is done locally in your browser, and none of your Getty credentials, download records or files are sent out to external servers.
