Without the Extension

Picture trying to keep a FapTap video the old-fashioned way. You right-click the player and choose save, and the file that arrives is a thumbnail or a short ad. That happens because the player wrapper obscures the real media address, and because some pages depend on player layers, indirect links or streaming that the browser's save command can't process. Next you try a converter site, or comb through the network request log by hand looking for the real file.

With It Installed

Faptap Video Downloader changes that routine into a few clicks on the page you're already on. Supported FapTap video pages gain a download overlay on the player. The toolbar popup shows what was detected and lets you start a download from there. Right-clicking the page or a video adds a "Download FapTap Video" option. An embedded tracker keeps a running view of download progress, and saved files are grouped in a structured FapTap folder.

Under the Surface

The extension reads the FapTap page itself, covering markup, metadata, scripts, the browser's performance entries and any associated player documents. From those it pulls:

• direct MP4 files, when the page reveals the final file address
• HLS playlist streams coming from the player

Ads, preview clips, thumbnails and other assets that aren't the main video are removed from the list automatically. If the media metadata or addresses contain resolution information, it's used to label the options and put them in order.

Timing matters here. On a lot of FapTap pages the media endpoint simply doesn't exist yet when the page first loads; it shows up only after you press play or after the page's scripts have finished preparing the player.

Getting Set Up and Saving

1. Download the build for your browser from the latest release and install it.
2. Sign in with an email address, confirmed through a one-time password.
3. Open a supported FapTap video page.
4. Play the video if needed, so the stream is initialised.
5. Click the overlay that appears on the player. If you'd rather see a list, open the popup from the toolbar to view the formats it identified, or pick the "Download FapTap Video" entry from the right-click menu.
6. Choose a quality from what was found.
7. Start the download and let the MP4 export run to completion while the tracker shows progress. The finished file is written to the FapTap folder on your computer.

Files and Caveats

Every download is saved as an MP4 in a FapTap folder inside your browser's downloads directory; if you can't see it, the browser's download settings show where that directory is. The quality list depends on what the page and its player expose, so certain videos have no alternative resolutions and formats differ between videos. All downloads need an internet connection.

When nothing is detected, reload, press play and wait for the player to be ready before opening the popup. A missing overlay suggests the page isn't a supported video page, though the popup and right-click option can still be tried. A download that cuts off can be restarted once the connection is checked; if it fails again, reload and play the video before the next try.

Save only content you own or have been plainly permitted to keep.

FAQ

Once I'm on Faptap, what's the download routine?

Find a supported Faptap page and, if the video isn't running yet, start it. Any of the overlay control, the toolbar popup or the right-click shortcut will then take you to the download.

Does it handle Faptap playlist streams or only direct files?

Both kinds. Whenever the page or its player logic reveals them, plain MP4 addresses and HLS-style playlists are picked up.

Do Faptap videos need to be playing for detection to work?

Usually. Until playback begins, or until the page's scripts finish building the player, some pages never reveal their underlying media endpoint.

How are the Faptap quality options labelled?

With whatever the source gives away. Useful labels are derived from media metadata or from the addresses the extension comes across.
