DreamCam offers no way to save anything. A show runs, ends, and is gone. DreamCam Video Downloader gives you lasting copies by recording a public live stream and by downloading the recordings the site makes available, and it does so without OBS, the quality loss of a screen capture, or pulling playlists out by hand. Everything it saves is an MP4 that lands in Downloads/DREAMCAM, with no save dialog to answer each time. Detection, HLS handling and building the MP4 all run in your browser, so your archive stays on your own machine.

Live room or recording: what changes

Live rooms. Only a performer who is publicly live can be recorded. With the player loaded, choose a rendition and hit Start; hit Stop whenever you've got what you want and the MP4 is finished off. You decide the exact length. LL-HLS polling keeps pace with the low-latency stream. During a long capture, and while HLS processing is still going, leave the source tab open.

Recording pages. On supported video pages the extension behaves like a normal downloader instead: it reads the formats a recording offers, you choose one, and the MP4 is saved without any Stop step.

The controls are the same either way: a button inside the player, the popup, or the "Download DreamCam Stream" entry in the right-click menu. An in-page manager tracks each job with elapsed time, segment count, retries and speed, and has a cancel control. It handles a single capture or download at a time; running several at once isn't what it was built for.

How it finds working streams

All-purpose tools often come up empty on DreamCam, so this extension draws on several signals together:

• DreamCam's broadcast APIs plus the state of the page itself
• the HLS master manifest, parsed for every resolution, bandwidth and frame-rate variant so the quality list shows exactly what's on offer
• probing across more than one CDN
• decoding for Mouflon-style playlists, a format that trips up simpler downloaders
• VR camera details (stereo packing, frame format, horizontal angle) whenever the source includes them

Since the file comes from the actual stream variants rather than a re-encoded recording of your screen, more of the original quality survives.

Where it runs and where it stops

It needs a desktop browser: Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Brave, Opera, Whale or Yandex, on Windows, macOS or Linux. Region: Worldwide. Activation is done once per device through an email OTP sign-in.

It works with public live rooms and supported recording pages, with any HLS or LL-HLS feed it is able to record or join into an MP4, and with VR-tagged streams that carry their metadata. It does not work in Safari or on mobile browsers, it cannot reach private or otherwise inaccessible shows (and does not bypass them), and it won't touch anything you lack permission to access. Stream detection only becomes complete once playback is running, and the qualities you can pick are limited to whatever the current stream or recording offers.

Permissions and why

• downloads: saves the finished MP4 files and keeps the download manager's live and recording jobs in sync.

FAQ

The DreamCam stream is not detected. What should I check?

See that the model is publicly live and that the video has begun playing before you look at the quality list. When a room is offline or private, or the page hasn't finished loading, there may not be enough stream data yet. A refresh and a second try often help.

Are DreamCam saves always MP4 files?

Yes. A direct file source can be fetched straight away; HLS sources are recorded or pieced together into an MP4 on your computer before the job is marked done.

What does recording a DreamCam live room involve?

Load the public live model page and wait for the player. Then use the player overlay, the popup or "Download DreamCam Stream" from the right-click menu, choose a quality and press Start. Pressing Stop ends the capture and the MP4 is finalised.

Can more than one DreamCam room be recorded simultaneously?

No. It is tuned for a single job at a time, which keeps live polling, segment handling and MP4 assembly dependable.

How many renditions will a DreamCam room usually offer?

Normally several resolutions, sometimes with different frame rates as well. The options are taken from the HLS master playlist and DreamCam's related APIs, so you only see what that particular stream or recording provides.

Which network calls does DreamCam Video Downloader make on its own?

Very few. Finding the stream, capturing it and producing the MP4 all take place in your browser, and nothing is uploaded. Outside requests cover activation, checking for updates, and the page or API calls required to resolve media you can already reach.
