Deflr Video Downloader
Locate the true DEFLR video file through page scripts, embeds and KVS-style API endpoints, then save it as an MP4 straight from your browser.
Where DEFLR keeps the actual file
On DEFLR the video address is usually tucked behind a player wrapper. Right-clicking typically saves a thumbnail or an ad image, and layered players, indirect links and streamed delivery are beyond what a plain browser save can cope with. Without a dedicated tool, that means converter websites or reading through network request logs. Deflr Video Downloader runs inside the DEFLR tab you are watching and pulls the real source out for you, without sending you to another page.
Sources it checks
| Source | What it can yield |
|---|---|
| Page markup and metadata | Direct file links and video details |
| Page scripts | Stream or file addresses set up by the player |
| Performance entries | Media requests the browser has already made |
| Embed documents | Player pages loaded inside the main page |
| KVS-style API endpoints, including the site-compatible videofile API | Final stream addresses; this call stays on the DEFLR origin |
Anything found is normalised into direct MP4 or HLS/M3U8-style endpoints. Ads, previews, thumbnails and unrelated assets are removed automatically, so only real video candidates are listed.
From play button to MP4
- Download the build for your browser from the latest GitHub release and install it.
- Sign in with the one-time password sent to your email.
- Open the DEFLR video and start it. On most pages the final stream only appears after playback starts or after the player's setup scripts have connected the media.
- Use the overlay on the player, open the popup to see the identified formats, or right-click anywhere on the page or video and choose "Download DEFLR Video".
- Choose a quality tier and start the download.
- Watch the embedded tracker until the MP4 export is complete; the file then sits in an organised DEFLR folder that the offscreen configuration uses.
Quality and output
When a page reveals a final file URL, that MP4 is taken directly. HLS streams from the player are processed and exported as MP4. Resolution is read from labels or URLs where possible, and formats are ordered by height when that works. A video may come in only one resolution, and what you can pick is limited to what DEFLR's page and player make visible.
What stays local
There is no remote downloader server. Detection and download processing are handled in the browser; sign-in and update checks contact SERP and GitHub services, and the videofile API request, when it is used, goes only to DEFLR itself.
Good to know
- The overlay only shows on supported DEFLR video pages; elsewhere, fall back to the popup or right-click menu.
- An empty list usually means the video has not started yet. A broken-off download can be retried after checking your connection, reloading and replaying the video.
- Every download needs an internet connection, and only content that is yours or that you have explicit permission for should be saved.
FAQ
How does a DEFLR download get started?
Play the video on a supported DEFLR page, then click the overlay, the toolbar icon or the right-click entry.
Where does it find DEFLR's media?
MP4 links and HLS/M3U8-style streams can come from the page itself, its scripts, embedded player documents or DEFLR's site-compatible videofile API; all are normalised into one list.
Why does the number of DEFLR resolutions vary?
Only what the source offers can be listed. Where labels or URLs give the resolution away, the formats are sorted from tallest down.
Which directory holds downloaded DEFLR videos?
A tidy DEFLR folder in your downloads, as defined by the extension's offscreen setup.
Is starting playback on DEFLR required?
Usually. The final stream tends to appear only after the video begins or the player has finished connecting its media.
Is a remote server involved in DEFLR downloads?
No. Finding and saving the video both run in your browser. SERP handles sign-in, GitHub handles update checks, and any videofile API request goes to DEFLR alone.
